Determination of yield point elongation:
The yield point elongation is determined according to the definition and the elongation curve. During the test, the force extension curve was recorded until the uniform work hardening stage was reached. On the curve graph, a parallel line parallel to the elastic straight line segment of the curve is drawn after the end point of the yield stage. The intercept of the parallel line on the extension axis of the curve graph is the yield point extension. The yield point elongation is obtained by dividing the yield point extension by the extensometer gauge distance (see Figure 6).
The yield point elongation can be measured by automatic device (such as microprocessor, etc.) or automatic test system, and the force extension curve can not be drawn. The extensometer gauge length shall be reported in the test report.
